I should have done burpees over the bar, but I was in my garage, and my workout mat isn’t wide enough for me to burpee on both sides of the bar.

The deadlifts get done unbroken, which makes them harder. I was cycling pretty slow – lift, rest at the top for 2-3 seconds, lift. I was gassed within three rounds.

If you do this right, you’ll feel it in your hamstrings and glutes the next day.

Postscript: Sure enough, 36 hours after this workout, I felt like someone had stabbed me in both hamstrings and left the knives in there…
