A generic term referring to a class of plug-in which connects a CMS to another system.

Connector’s to DAM systems are common, as are connectors to ECM systems like SharePoint. These connectors allow content to shared to the CMS and (less-commonly) vice-versa.

Connectors to marketing automation and CRM platforms are also common.
