CityDesk Editing Screen

tags: citydesk, desktop-cms

This was the main editing screen for CityDesk, a desktop-based CMS from the late 1990s to early 2000s. It was installed on Windows via an MSI file. It was single-user only.

CityDesk was built by Fog Creek Software, who are better know for the FogBugz bug tracking software, and then for Trello, which they sold to Atlassian.

Note the tab for “Extras.” You had a handful of fields here – “Extra 1,” “Extra 2,” and “Sidebar.” CityDesk was a wrapper around a Microsoft JET database, and it generated static HTML files and had an integrated FTP client for getting them up to your website.
