Virgin Forest

This is a colloquial term for an “old-growth forest,” which is a forest that has never been logged or disturbed artificially.

It’s estimated that only 21% of the world’s original virgin forests remain.

Why I Looked It Up

I’ve heard the term for years. However, I do not have a reference in my notes to where I saw the term recently.
