Localization

The process of enabling the display of information in a particular language. Adding a second language to your content is the process of “localizing” your website “into” that language.

Translation is the simple translating of text content. True localization refers to a more holistic modification of all content (images, navigation, etc.) which takes into account not only language but different cultural practices and norms.

This is commonly confused with “internationalization”.
