Umbraco Grid Editor

tags: umbraco, editor, property-typed

A popular advanced data type in many CMSs is a flexible grid/area, where other components can easily be placed. Some systems will have just have an advanced HTML editor where all content can go in - but more and more will want to keep content structured as much as possible. I like the Umbraco Grid editor as seen here. When you add a field of this type to your content type, you can decide which row options should be available. As you can see in the above case I am using both a full-width row, and a row with 3 columns. In each grid cell, you can place various kinds of content - Headlines, images, Rich text or even macros.
