WordPress.com has announced a plugin to edit directly in Google Docs. You can write as a document, use all of Google’s tools, then push directly to your WordPress blog from that UI.
This matches a pattern I’m increasingly seeing: the separation of “authoring” and “production.” Not everyone needs to be in your CMS. There are content creators that have no business navigating that UI and all the channel-specific complications your CMS entails.
