CMS in Higher Ed Report

From Issue #57

Techno-analytics company eQAfy has put together some stats about CMS usage in higher education.

Not surprisingly, WordPress and Drupal lead by a wide margin. The next two aren’t huge surprises either: OmniUpdate (now “ModernCampus”) and Cascade, which have traditionally played heavily in that market.

Honestly, AEM in fifth is a surprise to me, because higher ed is constantly budget-challenged. But further down, the report breaks the stats out by public/private, and you can see that AEM usage at public universities is very low – it’s likely sequestered at well-heeled private institutions.

In sixth is Terminalfour, which is another system heavily invested in higher ed.
