Archiving in CMS

This was sent in Issue #55 of Squirrel Notes on December 23, 2020.

I wrote a bit about one of my (perversely) favorite topics:

Archiving and Retention in Episerver Content Cloud

Lots of organizations exist under strict archival policies, and the functionality for this is going to be verified by someone who verifies things for a living.

I maintain that archiving should be boring like a trip to the dentist is boring. You want your trips to the dentist to be boring. An “exciting” trip to the dentist is rarely a good thing.

It might sound Episerver-specific, but there’s a lot in there about general architectural principles that relate to most any CMS.

(I weirdly love archiving and and retention to the point where I subscribe to r/DataHoarder.)
