Git-Based CMS Article

This was sent in Issue #54 of Squirrel Notes on November 27, 2020.

We’ve talked about CrafterCMS a bit in the past (not to be confused with Craft CMS). It’s a CMS backed by Git. (It was backed by Alfresco at one time, but it evolved.)

Russ Danner from Crafter wrote a nice article about why this matters:

Git-based CMS: What It Is, and Why You Need It

The article is clearly promotional, but stands on its own.

How much you like a Git-backed CMS probably depends on how heavy your versioning and audit needs are. For things like technical documentation or highly-regulated content, it can be exactly right.
