Long-Time Feeds

These are feeds I’ve followed for years. I’ll keep expanding this list as I find other feeds about which I have something to say.

  • Jason Kottke: Honestly, I don’t know much about this guy, but I’ve been following him for 20 years, probably. He was a designer, originally, and now he posts about Internet culture and (increasingly) politics. He has a membership community, which I’m not part of.

  • PostSecret is a long-running project where people send cards to a physical address that reveal their biggest secret. I’ve been following the project since the late 90s, and even went to one of their live shows in Sioux Falls. It only publishes on Sundays.

  • Joel on Software: This is the blog of Joel Spolsky, the founder of Fog Creek Software, and later, Trello. He’s a legend in the world of software engineering. He doesn’t really blog much anymore, but I keep following him in the hopes that he’ll pick it up again one day.

  • Five Books: This is a project where they recruit experts to recommend five books on their particular subject of expertise. I’m not sure that I’ve bought much from it, but I love seeing the books that experts themselves are reading.

  • Cool Tools: This is Kevin Kelly’s blog about handy things he finds. I also get their newsletter.

  • Cybercultural: This is Richard MacManus’s series of posts on the (recent) history of the internet. He also wrote a wonderbul book that accurately profiled the period of time he writes about.

Everything Else

Here’s a raw export of my OPML file from Inoreader on October 5, 2025. I follow a lot of stuff other than what I noted above, but some of these are newer follows and and some of them I’m just kinda lukewarm about.

If any of that changes, I’ll annotate the feed and move it up to the section above.

Some notes:

Here they are –
