Humans Are Underrated: Proving Your Value in the Age of Brilliant Technology
A solid book which explains the value that humans will always have over machines: empathy, and the desire and ability to connect with other people. This is the thing that the machines will never take from us.
The book is well-researched and well-cited. Many chapters are anecdotally interesting in their own right, beyond the main topic. I’m thinking of an extended chapter about how the military has embraced human factors to improve troop performance. Another chapter basically explains that women are so much more naturally empathic than men what they very well may own the next century.
(Perhaps weirdly, this book prompted me to write a blog post about CrossFit.)
