Calling Bullshit: The Art of Skepticism in a Data-Driven World

Book review by Deane Barker tags: critical-thinking

A good examination of why people spit BS, and how to debunk it. It drifts into a standard list of cognitive fallacies and statistical mistakes somewhere in the middle.

But still, it’s generally very good. The author makes a point that some people’s identity hinges on their BS (like any member of PETA), so they defend it more irrationally and passionately.
