The Trouble with Gravity: Solving the Mystery Beneath Our Feet

I kind of thought this book was going to be about the scientific principle of gravity, and how we still don’t know what it is.

Instead, the book is a long, tedious history of physics. It starts with a discussion about gravity in myth, legend, and religion, including the idea that heaven is “up there” and we are “down here.” The book then embarks on an examination of all the great thinkers of physics over the years.

At the end, it turns the corner a bit into a modern understanding of gravity, but it still didn’t live up to my expectations. Additionally, the author tries to be funny in several places, and that just falls flat.
