Hacking Marketing: Agile Practices to Make Marketing Smarter, Faster, and More Innovative

Book review by Deane Barker tags: marketing

This is a good book, but it’s not really even about marketing – this is a management book, at heart. the key is in the subtitle:

Agile Practices to Make Marketing Smarter, Faster, and More Innovative

It’s about bringing agile software development practices to other areas of business – marketing in this case, but it could be anything. In that respect, it’s quite good. Brinker makes the case of how marketing has changed in the digital era, and the things we need to do to keep up with it.

And, as someone who has worked with software development for some time, I can say that he does a credible job and summarizes the core tenets of that practice.

It’s a quick read (sub-300 pages, big type, breezy style), and a good mental shift in thinking.
