The title of this book is key: it’s “the most beautiful book places.” Not libraries or bookstores specifically, but just places with books.

That said, it’s lovely. Some wonderful photographs of different places around the world that have a lot of books. The pictures of often two page spreads, which makes the binding a little annoying, but it was still amazing in places. Some of the pictures almost literally took my breath away (I mean, just look at this).

Lots of libraries and bookstores, of course, but also a fair amount of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants.

I especially liked The Library at The NoMad, which is in a hotel in the Flatiron District of Manhattan. The website says:

The Library is a members-only workspace by day that transforms into an intimate cocktail lounge by night.

That sounds like a dream. I’ll have to look that up next time I’m in the city.
