Emma Makepeace Novels

I started reading these literally because the cover of the first installment appealed to me in a Barnes and Noble. I’ve found them to be lightweight, fun spy novels.

Emma Makepeace is the codename of a British secret agent. She works for “The Agency,” which I gather is one step above MI6. Her boss’s name is Charles Ridley (shades of “M,” clearly), and she has a co-worker named Adam Fields.

Emma was born in Russia. Her father was a spy for the U.K. and he was captured and killed two weeks before Emma was born. Her mother fled to the U.K. He mother is still alive, but doesn’t know what Emma does for a living. Emma’s real name is “Alex.”
