A Roman naturalist, historian, and researcher. He’s often credited with writing the first encyclopedia.

His full name was “Gaius Plinius Secundus.” He adopted his nephew who became known as Pliny the Younger.

I don’t remember where I found the reference, but I’ve heard about him for years.
