Arboretum

This is like a botanical garden for trees. In some usages, it’s not a building or formal place, it’s just a large tract of land filled with trees that people visit specifically to view the trees.

Why I Looked It Up

Out east of Sioux Falls is an arboretum. I’ve past it lots of times, and always wondered what it was. From the name and its appearance from the road, I kind of figured it was a botanical garden of trees, and that’s exactly what it’s supposed to be. I need to visit it.

Then, I was reading The Extended Mind and I read this:

[…] participants who walked through an arboretum for just under an hour scored higher on a test of working memory.
