Will Your Job Be Automated?

NPR has come up with a cute, if simplistic, app to tell you if your job will be automated. The parameters it reviews are:

• Do you need to come up with clever solutions?
• Are you required to personally help others?
• Does your job require you to squeeze into small spaces?
• Does your job require negotiation?

You select the field and the job, and it does some magic calculations, to come up with numbers like this:

• Massage Therapist, 54.1% chance of being automated
• Crossing Guard, 48.6%
• Retail Salesperson, 92.3% (um…what?)
• and the big winner: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons at 0.4%

So, get to medical school, clearly.
