Not a Fan: Becoming a Completely Committed Follower of Jesus

Book review by Deane Barker tags: faith

A book about the need to devote oneself completely to the Christian faith – to be a “follower, not a fan.” The book is well-written, fun to read, but I don’t know if I was the right audience. The target appears to be the already committed Christian who might be at a crossroads, trying to determine where to go next.

If I had a criticism, it’s that the book is extremely repetitive about its theme, and is lacking in practical ideas in how to live one’s faith on a daily basis. Once you accept the “not a fan” idea, the book tends to just go on and on and on about it. By the third chapter, I was thinking “Yeah…okay….?”

Still, a book I quite enjoyed reading.
