Lewis & Clark camp site of September 16-17, 1804 was nearby, close to the river 1½ miles above Corvus (American Crow Creek). They called it Plumb or Pleasant Camp and stayed two days ‘dressing skins, drying, washing and mending their clothes’. Two years later on their return, they used the same camp on August 28, 1806.
