An 1858 Treaty created the Reservation. On July 13, 1859 Agent A.H. Redfield arrived on the Steamboat, “Carrier.” The Agency for “Struck-by-the-Ree” and his Yanctons was set up at once. Later called Greenwood for then Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
