I didn’t quite know what to make of this book. I couldn’t really figure out the point. It seems to be equal parts a reflection on Nadella’s first 2-3 years as Microsoft CEO, and a look to the future of computing. Each chapter has a theme, but they almost just feel like a collection of reflections about running a large company.

He does make predictions for the future and clearly hints at where Microsoft is going. There’s an eye-rolling number of mentions of AI and VR, and he delves into deeper topics like how to program ethics into computers, and what to do about data privacy on a global scale.

But, in the end, the book was scattered. On the plus side, it’s a short read: less than 250 pages, generous spacing, breezy style.
