C# 9 and .NET 5: Modern Cross-Platform Development: Build intelligent apps, websites, and services with Blazor, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework Core using Visual Studio Code

Book review by Deane Barker tags: programming

I’ve been coding C# for more than a decade, but I still found so much in here that I missed over the years. Lots of these things were basic language features that I was just working around, in complete ignorance. Other things were changes in the platform over the years.

Fact is, we get stuck in patterns of work. And when a platform changes underneath us, we don’t change with it. In fact, since the way we’ve always operated technically still works, we don’t have an impetus to change. Reading this book forced me to confront some changes to the platform that will drive changes to how I work.

Additionally, the book introduced me to some advanced features – Xamarin, ML, SignalR, working with Visual Studio Code, etc.

Wonderful book. Exactly what I was looking for.
