The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet

Book review by Deane Barker tags: food, fitness

This book is a meticulously researched dismantling of the commonly-held belief that dietary fat is bad, and we should try to limit it as much as possible. The author makes incendiary claims that the government and food industry, through patterns of incompetence and deception, has gotten us to consume the worst possible diet, and destroyed our health in the process.

It’s dense, and gets repetitive towards the end, but it’s worth reading. The author’s experience clearly mimics my own, so she was preaching to the choir with this one.
