Import

The process of create content in a CMS that existed in another repository. It usually happens during a mass migration of content when an organization changes CMS. Content is usually extracted from the old repository and created in the new repository automatically, via code or a scheduled job.

Content might also be imported (and updated) on a recurring basis when the data exists in a source outside the CMS.
