The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life
Meh. I just didn’t get most of this. I feel like this is a self-help book for people who don’t read many self-help books because a lot of it is obvious.
Manson seems to be trying to play the “get real” card. He basically says that life is too short to care about unimportant things, so you have to decide carefully what you’re going to give a f–k about.
Okay. That seems pretty obvious, really.
Maybe some people will look at this as a “wake up call” or whatever, but a lot of it was lost on me. When I finished it, I paged back through the table of contents and tried to make some sense of it, but I couldn’t find any over-arching value.
(It doesn’t help that Manson is really just a blogger who got lucky, and doesn’t have anything in the way of professional credentials of accomplishments. He’s the epitome of the rich slacker, a la Tim Ferris, and that arrogant vibe just pisses me off in general.)
