Angel: How to Invest in Technology Startups

Book review by Deane Barker tags: business, venture-capital

Fantastic overview of the VC/angel process. Even if you’re on the other side – so, not investing, but looking at taking investment money – it gives you a good understanding of the entire process.

If you do want to become an investor, the book is a little silly. It assumes you have hundreds of thousands of dollars lying around, and that you’re willing to move to Silicon Valley, period.

Also, Calacanis is a self-promotional dick. Really, the entire book is him talking about how great he is and how amazing he’s done by investing. He really comes off as an asshole.

But, still, for understanding how this world works, it’s a good book.
